Design Considerations
Transverse or longitudinal?
Handling. What are the effects of the size, weight or location of the engine upon vehicle handling?
Crash performance. Is the engine suitably sized, placed and mounted to perform well in impact?
Emissions and pollution are always a consideration. Does the vehicle meet the applicable regulations? Do emmision related taxes make the vehicle more or less saleable? If you are producing a vehicle as part of a wider product range, have you considered the average per-vehicle emmisions levels (European Legislation)?
